You may consider therapy when something in life no longer feels manageable. Anxiety that won’t settle. Grief that keeps resurfacing. Strain in relationships. Old experiences that continue to shape how you feel day to day. Or a sense that you’re coping on the outside while struggling internally.
Therapy offers a private space to slow things down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin to work through it — supporting change that feels steady, grounded, and meaningful over time.
About Me
I’m Chris Boseley, a BACP Registered counsellor and psychotherapist, offering therapy in Watford and the surrounding areas, as well as online.
My approach is calm, straightforward, and emotionally focused. I pay close attention to what’s happening beneath the surface — the feelings, patterns, and ways of coping that can keep people stuck — and we work at a pace that feels manageable and contained.
People often come to me because they’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in repeating patterns, even while continuing to function day to day. Together, we take time to understand what’s driving the difficulty and how it has developed, before working towards change in a steady and realistic way.
The aim of the work is not just insight, but practical change over time: feeling more grounded emotionally, having clearer boundaries, and a greater sense of choice in how you live and relate.
Is this for you?
This way of working may suit you if you tend to cope by being capable, self-reliant, or emotionally contained, but you’re finding that approach is starting to cost you. Therapy offers space to slow down, reflect, and work through what’s been difficult — without pressure to perform or have everything worked out in advance.
If you’re unsure whether this is the right fit, an initial conversation can help you decide.
